Wow. That's certianly a feature I haven't seen used before. Nice work on the colour choice button. Combining that with the frame-by-frame overlapping vector elements and it works out. The only issue is that as an experimental animation, it's a little too repetitive. It seems like certain camera angles and certain effects are on screen for too long. I'll throw in a bonus half-star for the use of Samurai Jack style backgrounds and effects. I'm surprised that more people don't emulate that.

Wait, Tom took my idea for a commercial and ran with it?! I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY! That aside, I think this epitomizes the NG style. Crisp, clean, simple, and understnated comedy. Even if this doesn't win I'll gladly show it around for everyone to view. That being said, my only critcism is that the video clip of you scrolling down was a bit erratic, and should be smoothed out. Otherwise, great job!

Wow. Like the animation style for this. Seems like Mr. Holzman was emulating Red Guy from Cow and Chicken, which is always a plus in my book. And as hard as it is to animate, I still think the "engulfed in hair" ending was just a bit too short, you know?

DuDuL responds:

I tried to find a ballance between keeping it short and silly while kinda terrifying. Extra seconds/scenes of being engulfed in hair could break that balance - but i see where you're going. I could add a scene after credits or something

This isn't something you see everyday. It's simple, silent, and... well blank. It's an insight ti life, and what people could be like, but to be honest the simplicity of it doesn't do enough. I'm unsure as to why you chose to not even put in any background music, but to even be able to do the "rough line" style of work is something else. I'd like to see more of this series, but as for episode three... just try to make it slightly less simplistic. Add in a little more motion, or as I suggested before, add some background music. I'm adding you to my"to watch" list Duong.

antdung responds:

Thanks for your input! These episodes are a few years old, and I finally decided to upload them. I have about 9 episodes, all of the same format: no sound, text, and the same style animations. I'm considering beginning another "season" of which I think I'll narrate and have background music!

Who hasn't had this happen while animating? Really Zeurel, you've been pulling my 90's leg for a long time, and I'm still not tired of it. Wish I had as much patience to put up with Flash CS Suite as you. I actually quit and stopped animating for a full year because Flash crashed at about every 20th frame. Then again I am a perfectionist with an eye for detail. Ass slapping does make for some odd programming, that's for sure. My only complaint is that it's a little bit too short. I'd like to see someone testing this new prototype...

I'm glad you finally took on SpongeBob Squarepants. It's been my belief that ever since Nickelodeon canned the 90s toons to fund the other shows that died shortly afterwards, their only source of revenue was SpongeBob. The fact that this show is ending seems to be eerily related to SpongeBob's influence. That little yellow retard is cursed I tell you! Anyways, there's even less movement in this cartoon than the first one, and the audio volume goes from about 70% to 120%, so I had to keep watch on my settings. I think you decided to give us this cartoon really quick, which I'm both happy and distressed about. It's another "TTD" episode, but it's frankly one of the worst ones and the last one. Overall Doods, I'm going to keep watching you and I'm hoping once you feel like it again DD will get to ranting about stupid characters and plotlines again.

Reliving his memories for one last time, just to see his friends again. Really shows you your childhood was the best time ever. This really seems less to be about the art, and more about the story and idea. I'm a sukcer for good stories, be they a short (like this one) or long enough to take years to finish telling. The movement animation was a bit rough, and his mother's face seem disproportionate after she looked down, but for the most part for a FBF done mostly in other programs this looked amazing. The soft, almost watercolour shaindg of it really gave it the look of a memory or a dream. I've been watching you for a while Cat, and I'm hoping to get to see more stuff like this.

Well, you definitely improved Scoot. The character designs look the same, but that's what I loved about your style. The backgrounds and movement paths have seriously improved though. They don't look like you just have paper cutouts with tacks at the joints anymore. And the way the glow effects and shading change dynamically (not something you did before) just make it seem more... Organic. If this is the only episode that's going to be remade, I'm fine with that. Keep going and make us eastern-style artists proud man.

I liked it. I really did. The only thing that seems to detract is that you didn't use sprites for everything, like the subtitles and Bowser Jr.'s nosebleed. So few dozen people don't like sprites. I doubt that they've even played the games that we have (Virtual Boy anybody?). Keep making these movies, because I know you work hard on them, and we all know that Super Mario World parodies and BigFoot3290 (AKA Jeremy Simms) brought NG back from the brink of extinction. Just work on bitmapping everything, and you'll do great. Don't let us down, dude.

Sunrie responds:

Yeah, memories are short for people. Looks like the score is coming back up. I wrote that when it was voted down below a 2.0...so I may keep it.

The nose bleed is actually from Samurai Showdown when the opponent is cut in half. I didn't really want to use sprite letters for the text just because it would have added a lot to the library count.

I really appreciate the review.

This makes me want to be Robin and pull Batman back from the darkness (again). Tights aside, I agree, I like your clean style better. The one thing that threw me off was the fact that there wasn't much movement on this one, meaning you spent way too much time thinking of the subtle lighting effects in AE, and that subtracted a bit. Otherwise I think that what you did with the idea of one of the most controversial fanclubs and Batman (Idea, Man, Legend) is something that shouldn't have ended with Batman joining them. I love it, but the idea and time spent on effects takes away some of the impact from the joke.

Y'know, I honestly didn't think common sense was a superpower. And then I noticed that myself and everyone else I know lacks it.
